Question.

After reading a couple threads on here, I was wondering what was generally the case for when a retailer wants to buy your merchandise. One person said that they usually produce the shirts after an order has been made. But does the retailer pay upfront usually, or do you bill them after they receive the clothes?

I've seen people mention Net30, and I'm wondering if that is wise.
I ask this because, everything has been out of pocket with me so far. And I'm not exactly sure I'd like to pay thousands for shirt production for someone else (if that were the case). Especially since, I plan to feature my line in small boutiques. Net30 just seems like a risk to me.

I wouldn't do anything out of pocket if I were you. If most of your customers are small boutiques they're probably used to paying for everything up front. We had a store at a local market and all the merchandise we ever bought from different wholesalers, local and across the country, required payment at the time of purchase or before they would ship to us.
