Default Showing at a Fashion tradeshow in February vs. August

hey guys,

I'm starting to put the wheels in motion to show at either Magic, Pool, or United next year, and I figure I should show sooner rather than later, so I want to shoot for one of the February shows, but I was wondering...are there certain advantages/disadvantages to showing in February as opposed to August? If things are going well, then it'd be nice to show at both, but I don't want to count my eggs before they hatch or anything.

Is there a particular one that's better to show at? I'm guessing February, since that will be for showcasing Spring/Summer lines (which is more my thing), right?

Anyway, I'll be searching these forums for all the help I can get.

Thanks in advance!

That's what I would have said. Twice a year is good for established brands, but I would think it would make sense to show for the summer season for an upcoming mostly-t-shirts brand.

Spring/Summer lines are shown in the August shows, which I would think would be the best for t-shirt lines.

The February shows the Fall/Winter/Holiday lines.

I think if you have enough designs that would give you enough time to determine what you will be printing on for those seasons.

I wondered if that would be the case. February seemed way too late for Summer, but too early for Winter.

Different designers/manufacturers have a stated ship date for different designs. They show the samples or designs during the different shows and start writing orders for future ship dates.

Reatilers would usually order in advance so that the products arrival are steady throughout the season. Most of the time if you don't order in advance the designer/manufacture may no longer have the designs you want because they have been allocated to those that have pre-ordered.
