I just spoke to a buyer for a large retailer to whom I am submitting my designs. She told me that once a design is accepted, there are certain requirements they have of their vendors, such as capacity to fill orders to all of their outlets, etc. She mentioned that their vendors need to be equipped with EDI systems in order to communicate with their computer system.
I'm assuming this is some sort of inventory database system, but have no idea of the specifics.
Are there any buyers or designers out there familiar with this sort of system who can share details of what I should be planning in this regard?
