Default Becoming a clothing rep.

hope this is the right section to post this.
Im currently in talks with a clothing company in the US (im in australia) and they are looking for sales reps over there and have shown interest in expanding to Australia. what im wondering is if they have no people or contacts over here,

how would i go about setting up business with them?
i have done this on a very small scale before with another american clothing company.i bought $2000 worth of stock off them and sold it but this time with this new crew would rather not have to outlay any money up front.

how do i go about this?obviously there would be risk involved for them as they would be sending the stock on the promise that i will sell it and give them the money.i can give them an ABN (australian business number) and other details and info.

What would be the usual process for this sort of thing?
any help would be great.

There are millions of ways to do business, basically everybody expects to get back the value they invest plus something else...
- probably they want to choose the guy that has better or greatest access to the matket (always assuming an honest scenario)
- they might want to push you to work hard setting targets
- one significant difference is whether you have to build stock or whether you are just linking the orders from your customers and the US supplier
if you want you ca PM me and I can share my experience with you. I'm in the EU.
