I am trying to start up a Business,and it is pretty nerve racking. I got a business card from someone selling shirts at the swap meet when I searched the business name on our state website...it wasn't registered.
Do you have to be a registered Business to sell shirts at the swap meet or online?
If so,does anyone know what steps to take.
All of this is new to me and I dont wanna break any laws.
I live in Hawaii and was thinking of selling at The Aloha Swap Meet.
I also wanted to do my own site online.

You'll need to register with your state's sales tax agency, but your "business" can be an individual sole proprietor, it doesn't have to be a corporation or anything.
If you check your state's website, they will lay out everything you need to start a business in your state.

just go get the hawaii business license online. that way you can secure your business name and do what you like.
