Discuss the process of getting your t-shirt line into brick and mortar stores and selling offline. Topics include industry tradeshows, events, line sheets, sales reps and other retailing tips and advice.
I have a question - I'm taking a trip to Boston in March and have picked out a few retail stores to hit up to try and open accounts with, and once I figure out my Boston schedule I'm gonna start making calls and hopefully getting appointments.
Anyway, we were featured in California Apparel News for having the top-selling shirt in the Villains boutique in San Francisco a couple of months ago, and I want every retailer I speak to to know this. Is there a good way to package a copy of a black and white news article with my literature and line sheet? Should I make a nice page that says "see what people are saying about SEIBEI" and cite various articles and mentions?
What's the best way to go about it? I'd ideally like people to know that an actual trade paper cited us as a store's top seller, so that people don't think I'm just blowing smoke and trying to make my brand sound awesome.
Thanks y'all!

This sounds good. I wouldnt put too much or they will nto read. Just some quote and make sure you specify the all info related.
magazing/newspaper name, artile number, page etc.
I think this a great thing to do. I do it wilth all the hype I have gotten from my art.
Featured on CorelDRAWs website and advertising. Cover of CorelDRAWPro, etc. All it will do is help you.
Yes, it is always good to have your articles with you, but one article does not a line make (though it does help). Imagine meeting a new friend that hands you a letter stating how cool they are. You'd be like, "What only one?" I'm slightly kidding here of course. Just make sure you have information to balance out the self-adulation. Make sure you have a catalogue or colorful line sheets, AND THEN a awesome article about you. Nothing kills a pitch faster than a Black and White information package. And make sure it fits in a 8.5" by 11" folder. You want them to be able to store it easily.
Also every article counts. If you have a local newspaper contact them and pitch them the "new designer in town" angle. Quantity as well as Quality helps.

on a different note. Is there a way to have the articles emailed to someone? I am always on the look out for new articles that can help promote my screen printing site.
