What ratio of sizes do you normally order? and how do you package?
Re: What ratio of sizes do you normally order? and how do you package?
It depends on your market demographic.
When I was printing my shirts in the UK, kid of an arty threadless style, we sold 5% small, 45% medium, 35% large, 15% xl. IF you're selling a more geeky/rude style, I'd expect that to be skewed a little futher to the large and xl.

I would say a rough 'overall' average breakdown (US) is going to be something like 10xxl 20xl 30l 25m 15s. As previously stated, of course, this will vary widely with target demographic, but if you don't really know your target very well this might give you a rough idea to work with.

Was this for mens shirts only? Does anyone have figures for womens shirts?

We haven't sold a ton of ladies' cut shirts yet, but the general trend seems to be larges the most, with mediums right behind, and both xl and small tailing further.
Note that this also depends greatly on the t-shirt brand you use - for example, a lot of people use bella for ladies' cut shirts, which are about one and a half sizes smaller than a "normal" t-shirt is.

This is the curve that I've been using. I sell mostly to comic book and Dungeons & Dragons people and they tend to run bigger than most people. I don't have percentages for the 4X and 5X because they sell so slow that I don't have an accurate count for them yet. I am getting ready to order my first run of women's shirts and in a few months when my data gets to be more accurate I'll share those numbers too.
