Re: Uni-directional mode possible on NeoFlex? I'm not sure if that feature has also been replicated on the NeoFlex platform, but I do know that with the Original Flexi-Jet, the RIP Software is what delegates whether bi- or uni-directional printing is performed. The reason why you are able to get finer detail is that there is less ink laid down during each complete pass, and there is a little more time between when the printer is actually "spraying" ink. This allows time for the ink to spread, and there is less perceived dot gain. This occurs both vertically (into the material) and sideways, contributing to an increased dot diameter. Printing in uni-directional mode also helps when you are printing on more rigid or less porous substrates such as wood to give the ink time (albeit a small amount) to "set" before the next pass also contributing to finer detail.
