Default My favorite shirt ever!

Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to find a shirt that one of my friends took from me when he was moving out. It's a black, slim-fit t-shirt I got from Hot Topic about 2.5-3 years ago. It had a very distinct brown design on the front of the shirt. The brown looked like a faded spray paint style, but not overly done. The design was of a skull with wings. The wings spread out to the sleeves but did not cover the entire sleeves. The design covered the entire front of the shirt. As far as I remember, it didn't have any words on it and I'm absolutely sure I bought it from Hot Topic, I think I got it off clearance, but I absolutely loved that shirt. Please help me find it.

Thanks,

Teagan

Probably easier to track your friend down.

I assume you have already checked hot topic's website?

Have you tried ebay?

I think since I bought it off clearance in March 06 it's long gone off the website. I looked everywhere on ebay. Can't find it. I find similar designs made by affliction but not the same. Was wondering if they had a catalogue of old designs and shirts. Similar to "out of print" books on websites.

The good news: There's a good chance you can eventually find it.

The bad news: Eventually...

First, write an email to Hot Topic and tell them how much you loved this shirt and how you have been searching for it. Might as well send it directly to Betsy McLaughlin, CEO. She probably has someone to handle this type of stuff. Ya never know what might happen...

And combine that with the more practical approach of setting up an automatic eBay search. There are lots of services for this. Just Google "automatic eBay search" or something like that.

Then start reviewing the listings. And be prepared to keep doing it for a while. It will show up eventually.

The trick is setting up the right search parameters. I would probably use "Hot Topic skull." Looks like this will produce an average of about 1 hit per day. If you go with "Hot Topic skull wings" it looks like it would be more like 1 hit per week. Less to wade through, but you take a chance that someone might not mention the wings in the auction title.

Also, this may be counterintuitive, but don't include the word "shirt" and definitely not "t-shirt" in your search. Lots of inexperienced eBay sellers figure that since it's in the "mens shirts" category, you should know it's a shirt. So they don't include "shirt" in the title. Or they say something like "tee".

Ebay has this feature directly from within their site. It's called Saved Search. I use it on a couple of items and get a daily email listing all hits.
