Technically, they're different but I'd say for your purpose/usage, you can use them as the same, like printing on solvent transfer papers.

I am not sure what the OP meant by "solvent dye" ink. Solvent is used as a carrier for the colorant, usually a pigment. Thus you would have solvent pigments. To contrast, water can be used as a carrier and you would have waterbase pigment.

Technically a solvent dye then would just be a dye suspended in solvents. The question is what kind of dye? Dye sublimation is a very specific type of dye. There is also dyes for printing onto fabric and a dye mix used for paper printing.

Dye inks disperse into water where pigments are held in suspension, dyes are also much more dense in color versus pigments are transparent.

I hope that helps,
Good luck,

A solvent dye is a dye soluble in organic solvents. It is usually used as a solution in an organic solvent. Solvent dyes are used to color organic solvents, hydrocarbon fuels, waxes, lubricants, plastics, and other hydrocarbon-based non polar materials.i think that was actually definition of solvent dye are you agree with this??
