Re: 2 presses for imageclip I have been using Image Clip for several months now. We have 2 presses, one for the paper set up and one for the shirts. Previous posts have indicated that the Image Clip is a hit or miss type paper, but after working with it the past couple months, I guess we have fine-tuned the process. We press the lower platten for 5-8 seconds (without the paper) to match the lower platen temperature with the upper platten (which is important, as Image Clip is temperature sensitive). Then we press the two pages together for 20 seconds with light pressure, flip it over and re-press for 5 more seconds. Then we wait 5 seconds and peel the pages apart. We don't see any residue on the red page whatsoever.
We have found that when pressing onto the garment, we use pre-stretch the shirt, slide it over the lower platen to give it a nice flat surface, ensuring the ink settles into the rib (grooves) of the fabric, then using heavy pressure, we press at 400 degrees for 20 seconds, peel hot. After removing the paper, we place a teflon sheet over the print, and re-press for another 5 seconds to ensure the ink is set into the "grooves".
We have had very good results with many happy customers, who many are repeat customers. One thing I can mention, is that the Image Clip is temperature/pressure sensitive. The initial pressing of the two pages is very important to get a clean red page. We messed with our press continually, until we found the right pressure. I want to say the lighter the pressure the better, but you don't want to go too light. Once we found the right pressure, we don't touch that press for anything else. |
