Hello
We have a Samsung CLP-315 color laser printer. We bought a large sum of LaserSoft Laser Transfer paper from Proworld.
I find that during printing, when the roller moves the paper, it leaves almost wheel marks. It appears the roller gets hot enough to melt the transfer. We can usually print one page, then they all get ruined.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? is there a different paper I should be using?
The rollers are hottest for the first print, that page cools the rollers down as it passes and the subsequent pages are less cured. So I don't think that's your problem.
Hey
I think it is, as time goes on you can feel the heat. what do u suggest?
I noticed you after a few sheets the transfer sticks to the roller in spots. Also did a search and noticed other members have had trouble with this printer. One guy suggested using injket paper?
Have you tried the thicker laser transfer papers like the Forever Universal, or the Techniprint from Neenah? Would you say the Lasersoft you're using now is already a heavy/thick paper?

From my experience, this is not exactly a heat problem at fuser level: the temperature changes during printing, but not so dramatically.
The paper jams because tiny specks of transfer film are stuck on the rollers.
You can' t see them. They are too small. And therefore cleaning is difficult.
As you continue printing a second, then a third, and a fourth image, the specks pile up. And cause jamming.

is there a paper or way to stop it?
We have been doing image transfer for quite a few years now, and we had the same problem as you.
Now, we have created our own tool: a combination of image editing and use of a special tape.
(No need to say that an international patent which covers both aspects of the method is pending.)
Anyway, some people have started using it in Japan.
