Color Quality of Laser Transfers, MagicTouch Hello. I am a total newbie to the heat transfer world, haven't even bought the equipment yet, and have a few questions. I want to do some personalized t-shirts for my customers but am mostly looking at hard surfaces and particularly interested in transferring to uncoated objects (thus, my questions on MagicTouch papers below).
First, do laser jet transfers really give as good color quality as inkjets? I have done lots of research on inkjets and have been impressed with their prints, such as Epson's line of pro printers. I've always thought of laser jets as copy and office workhorses -- not for printing graphics or art. What if your transfer has a photo? Do laser transfers with photographs have good quality?
Second, has anyone tried the MagicTouch papers on uncoated hard surface objects? I am looking to personalize leather journals and mat board (for matting photographs and hanging them on the wall). So far, the MagicTouch system seems to be the most cost-effective for producing single, personalzied items, but I'm not sure of quality or durability. I've requested a sample from the company but am interested in hearing from people who have used the CPM papers in particular.
I'm asking becuase I don't currently own a laserjet printer and would have to buy one to test the MagicTouch on my leather journals and mat board... pretty expensive proposition at this point!
Thanks for any advice, feedbak, etc.! |
