Default Autoarts Transfers Lights + Whites

Has anyone tried the new paper from Autoarts. Sounds great, lower temp, more shirt colors seem to be viable, easier peel. What did you think?

The new paper from Duracotton has not been released to the distributors as of this date...in fact most have not received the initial test package. More info may be out after 1st of year

Thanks Charles, I checked their website and thought it was already shipping. Like all new things it sounds very good. I like Duracotton but it is sometimes difficult to get a perfect press. Hope this paper is more forgiving when pressed.

I got a sample pack of the new paper, Autoarts Lights + Whites. Spent a couple hours so far trying to get a good print. I get toner ghosting on printer setting, light, and medium, but it does print. It jams in the fuser on every other setting, including transparency and glossy. I have used Duracotton HT with good results before so I am familiar to the process. Have not contacted Autoarts yet, haven't had the time. Any suggestions in the mean time? Anyone else had better results?

Chet.... what printer? This is info from AutoArt
1. print 5 plain paper sheets - using WHITE artwork (to not use toner) - in the default Printer Setting (paper weight)
The printer needs to be warm otherwise it will jam.

2. use TRANSPARENCY as the paper weight
Everything prints perfectly - one, five, twenty, forty copies.

Press: 14 to 16 seconds
390 F / 196 C degrees

Peel: HOT

And for better color..do a second press with just the teflon pad for 4 sec or so..the peel hot

Thanks Charles. I followed the directions without success. Five blank sheets, transparency, straight paper path, jam. I'm using an Oki C5500N. I've used Duracotton HT without problems. The paper only goes through on printer setting, light, and medium, but has significant toner ghosts. Heavy, ultra heavy, labels, transparency, and glossy all jam. I appreciate your help.

Got an email from Ken at Autoarts. The production paper seems to have a flaw. It is not working with the oki printers resulting in jamming. Autoarts is working on the issue and the manufacturer is testing to locate the problem. Just glad to know it's not an isolated issue with my printer. Just have to wait for the fix.

Autoarts sent a a new email stating that the problem had been corrected and they are sending out replacement paper. I'll post an update when it arrives.

Hi, I had a bad crash & burn with my oki c500n awhile back using duracotton HT due to not following my own advice to my kids. ( when all else fails, read & follow the directions.) All I had to do was run 5 plain pages through first with only one small word (saves ink) to heat the fuser. Then bring up my ready graphic. Clic print & when the settings box appeared, clic on multi purp tray. Then set weight to heavy. Be sure to open back door tray for a straight thru run. Seems this helps avoid jams. I also noticed that I can choose 8x10 in the print size drop down. Guess it's my MS picture it 2001 platinum program. If I choose fit to page the end product is smaller than if I clic 8x10. Anyway, I printed some Valentines shirts on white fri morn with my 9 yr old granddaughter and we pressed them at 405f for 20 sec, peeled imed and tefloned for another 20. Now, I have read threads from people who say there is still the clear window touch left, and duracotton's claim of no trim is less than true. I am glad I am here to tell ya HT worked for us. On these last prints we had to look hard to see any,if at all any window. That is what it's called, right? Window? Oh yeah, don't forget ( 1st wash in plain water w/no soap) to get all the window. I would like very much to get something similar that would work on greys or even black. .........I want a vinyl cutter so I can print on dark fab irons & weed them out. I tried the HT on a gray 5050 I got at the dollar store but, it won't do. The HT with whites combined with the inks in my 5500 lazer led come out with beautiful colors that compare to me like printing pictures on paper. I have looked in gift shops on our Washington coast and have not found anything that outclasses this HT for performance in it's class. Most of course, are using vinyl, screen or embroidry. Of course, this is coming from a guy who grew up in a two room sanddune cabin with an outhouse and had to make two pair of everything last all school year. Hope I helped someone.

The Autoarts Lights + Whites transfer paper is supposed to work with a greater array of shirt colors than the HT paper does currently. I'm still waiting to get the replacement paper to test. Really hoping it pans out.

Been waiting for the new paper, turns out Ken needed an update on my mailing address. Sent the new info. Should be getting it soon. Sorry about the wait.

I did get some more test paper, but Ken emailed today to say the new "fixed" paper should be ready in a about two weeks. My biggest problem at the moment is I upgraded to a new computer that has some defect. Kept trying to repair itself each time I tried to load my software. Have to send it to the company for repair. Another question is what was the point with Vista. XP was so much easier to use. I'll be back.

I am glad I found someone who has got the ht W & L working well. I am in a bid with my granddaughter for 300 shirts and want the color option over just whites using our oki 5500. I'll contact auto art to see if it's time yet to get some whites & lights paper. Thanks.
