Default Reducing Background Shadow

I just received my sample of JPSS. It is my understanding that this is a "self-weeding" paper. That is, it will not leave a background image on the shirt.

My first shot at it doesn't look promising. I'm attaching a photo. Any ideas how I can reduce the background? Coastal Business tech support says I have to cut out each letter. That is not self-weeding! For that, I'd use my Roland with CPS 2160.

Suggested appreciated!

You have to trim trim trim and trim. Sometimes the polymer turns yellow. Neenah calls it scorching the polymer. It did to me in several occasions. If you want self weeding Imageclip for laser and for inkjet are the transfers that will do the trick.

When I use JPSS I mask it with a plain paper with image part cut out with vinyl cutter then use the paper to cover the unwanted polymer around the image. By doing that the unwanted polymer is prevented from transferring on the shirt.

The polymer window of JPSS really stands out on non white fabric. Imageclip transfers will not have that issue even on pastel and slightly dark fabric.
