Default Heat Press HELP

For some reason all my light transfer papers seem to break apart when being a little stretched. At first I thought it was the paper I was using but after using a couple of different brands of paper they all do it. I use a hix ht-400 heat press. Any thoughts, I was thinking maybe I did not iron out the t's enough (wrinkles are still in it) PLEASE ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFULL

Default Re: Heat Press HELP

Well, I'm a little confused by your description, but I'm gonna give it a shot....

If by "break apart" you mean after it has been pressed on the shirt, I have to wonder if you're pressing on a ribbed fabric. The transfer will adhere only to the top surface.

If you're not using a ribbed shirt, then I assume you mean that when you stretch the shirt, the design "breaks apart".....that's the paper stretching with the fabric. As the fabric moves back into place, so should the design.

As for the wrinkles....after pre-pressing the shirt for 10 seconds (to remove all moisture), there really shouldn't be any wrinkles in your shirt when you press the transfer paper.

Check your heat, and your pressure, and make sure you're using the dwell time that the paper manufacturer recommends.

My brain hurts....did I make any sense at all?
