Default T-Shirt Making Advice

Hi there,
I'm totally new and have absolutely no idea what im doing.

I have a bunch of designs, some of which have few colours and some which have many. I want to make t-shirts for myself and maybe friends. Where should i start?

Is it possible to do heat transfers with just an iron? I dont mind making an investment in a heat press if it is worth it.

Thanks

Iron can be used. But heat press is the way to go, Irons do not give u the constant pressure and heat distribution. Iron may take more time and would work do not get me wrong. But I would invest into the press and transfers. You can look at packages online. I was lucky and got mine for $800 and its a higher end one.

you can get a $265 heat press from Transfer Paper, Heat Press, Heat Transfer Vinyl, Sign Making Vinyl - Coastal Business Supplies. Which is the 3rd down on preferred vendor. And I made sure I bought an Epson printer, even buying a $50 would truly make a difference. I had a Lexmark and went to Epson and my transfer were like night and say differece. Price difference was $16 so I am happy I bought the second printer.

And for good transfers I would look into Heat Transfer Paper, Inkjet heat transfer paper & Dark Transfer Paper at TShirt Supplies, who is also a preferred Vendor for the site. I use them when I do Heat pressing and love them, I had a problem with paper when it got here and they sent me a new pack out!

Hope this helps!

Bobby
