Question Roland xc540 material for t-shirts

Help with 3 questions please.

1. What material is best for a Roland xc540 printer to print full color designs to heat press onto t-shirts?

2. Can I mirror an image, or I need to only do actual view and transfer tape?

3. What transfer tape should I be using?

Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Roland xc540 material for t-shirts

Hi Laverne

There is a pretty wide range of solvent printable heat transfer materials for that printer. Some of the more popular brands are Colorprint, Forever and Solutions.

If you select a transfer material designed for dark fabrics, you will need to print your design in the positive and use heat transfer mask to lift the design and take it over to your shirt to press.

If you select a transfer material specifically for light or white fabrics than odds are you can just print in the mirror image, weed away the excess and flip it over to heat apply.

Basically the same principles that you use for sign making for clear and white vinyl.
