Default ironing boards - NO! ?

i read somewhere that when using an iron to heat press transfers on to fabric, that you shouldnt use an ironing board.

Instead, you should iron over a peice of special heat resistant material but i forget what you call it.

Can anyone resolve this mystery for me as I'm racking my brains?

Bax.

Hi Bax
I believe a teflone material would work.
It is available in sheet form and most likely available through most industrial supply stores.

Paul

No, no ironing boards. You are 100% correct in that. Ironing board surfaces do not provide a solid enough surface, and they absorb some of the heat, which could cause your transfer to fail.

The best thing to use is a formica counter top with a pillowcase on the counter top. Stand on a stool to get the best leverage you can for pressure.
