Information Overload.. MiraCool, ImageClip, TechniPrint, Oh My...
I have been reading the forums all day today in hopes of finding a solution for printing text and intricate images on dark tees with "transparent" opaque paper with an inkjet printer.
There is so much info that I am dizzy and was hoping a tee-guru or two can lay it out succinctly.
By "transparent" I mean a heat transfer paper that allows the dark color of the tee to show thru rather than have to attempt to match the color of the background with the color of the tee.
Is there an easy and reliable paper for doing this?

Thanx
The only heat transfer paper that is self weeding is WOW 7.1 opaque that is made by The Magic Touch. It is very expensive. Its $5.00 a pair after the initial purchase of a kit ($152.00/25 shts.) that includes a soft pad that is required to press the transfer. Do a forum search for WOW 7.1 for more info.
If you have a large quantity order, with low spot color design that has small number of colors, you are better of using custom plastisol heat transfer. Plastisol can get very expensive also for full color design.

Thanx Lnfortun.. Much appreciated..

Me again. I read thru the WOW info and discovered that one still needs a Laser Printer for the mask work.. So I am guessing that there is not an Inkjet Only solution..
On the plus side (and approaching the idea from a different angle), I did get halfway thru that long thread about the DIY DTG printer using an Epson C88+. Which is fortuitous for me, as I have 3 of those lying around..
So, I am going to give my brain a rest and then tackle the thread again.. If anyone has any personal experience with that DIY project, I would love the input...
Thanx again..

You are probably better off asking for the feedback on personal experience with the DIYDTG in that thread. That's where those folks are hanging out.
You could use dark heat transfer paper and get a "cutter" that does "optical cutting" or "contour cutting". The cutter will cut the image out for you, instead of you cutting the excess paper away by hand. The cutter will need to have "optical registration".
Some brands are "uscutter" "laserpoint" "graphtec" and "roland". Once you own a cutter, you can add other products to your line up like signs, decals, stickers and more.
If you search terms that I have quoted for you, you will find more information on that topic if you need to learn about it. Good luck to you. =)
This is a discussion about Information Overload.. MiraCool, ImageClip, TechniPrint, Oh My... that was posted in the Inkjet Heat Transfer Paper section of the forums.
