4075 High Tack Conform Application Tape...works for InkFlex Dark/Ironall.... but doesn't work for Alpha Gold Dark/Jet Opaque II..It must have something to do with the backing paper...as Inkflex has a glossy back and Jet Opaque has a dull backing...interesting.
...really? You are cutting and trying to use 4075 as a "carrier transfer tape".....right?
Josh at Imprintables would know the correct procedure.....I am old now and I forget things easily!!!LOL
I have 2 of the Imprintables transfer masks.... clear looking roll and a yellow looking roll. I know that one of them is "doable" with jet-opaque..... BUT you only press for 5-6 seconds, then peel, then cover w/ silicone paper press for the rest of the time required.
If anyone reads this who knows, please tell all. LOL Yellow looking roll or clear looking roll????
I read the post....and did all the steps Chani did. The tape color is yellow. I used GX 24 to ccontour the graphic. Then removed all of the excess backing paper. Put the mask over the graphic. Attempted to remove the rest of the backing paper and with Alpha Gold Dark/Jet Opaque II it held on to it's backing paper. Did the exact same thing with the InkFlex Dark/Ironall and it came off fairly easy.

....that is weird!
I am finally learning how to contour-cut (THANKS king Luis!!!) ...and when I finish everything else that I have to do, I will try this too....to see if I get the same problems. (might be a while...just give me a poke to remind me)
also.... what blade do you use for the IAFD? and what are your cutter settings??

As a mattress of the fact..I read that post...i guess I have to get a roll of Solutions Mask??
lol!
Call and talk to Josh first, before you buy......he will steer you in the right direction. (I guess that I could call him too for that matter) ...you know what is even more embarrassing? I saw him at the Orlando ISS show this last weekend and we actually talked about this!!!! LOL! I have totally forgotten what he said!
I know that once I actually "do" this process it will "stick" in my head forever.....I hope.

Yellow backing is a low temp material. It will melt above 320F. So don't use it to press an opaque transfer. I bought the Magic Mask from Beacon Graphics. I have not tried it so I don't know how muh heat it can take. I know Chani talked about using it for JPSS and Ironall light.

The yellow looking roll. Once I put the mask on top of the image that I want to put on the shirt....it still adheres to its backing...and doesn't stick to the tape

....just curious..... if it didn't pick up the image, how did you press the mask to know that it wouldn't melt?

Remember..the mask worked with the Ironall/InkFlex Dark...which I had some sheets of. It didn't work with the Jet OpaqueII Orange grid paper...Hence my dilema, because I like the orange grid paper better.
