Funny you say somehow because my Jetwear sample has more of a hand and feels heavier than my Alpha Gold Dark sample
Funny is right. Makes one wonder where the person(s) that are making such claim is getting their info? Or maybe it is the same brand but slightly different formulation. It can happen.
Maybe Jack from Alpha Supply can qualify or disqualify that claim. Have you tried contacting him?

Remember..... any business that sells transfer paper and "gives it their own name" (i.e. "paper re-naming") can "switch out" papers anytime they like.
Whatever paper works best during their "periodic testing " they might switch to , but still keep the same name that they have always had.
Example: (this is not a real life scenario!...just an example!)
"Mrs. B's super-duper transfer paper for darks" is really Neenah's "jet opaque" ....UNTIL..... Mrs. B does her "periodic testing" and finds out that "jet-opaque" is not acting like it used to....but IYA's "ironall for dark" has a superb run going on! So, Mrs. B switches to "ironall for dark" but still keeps the name "Mrs. B's super-duper transfer paper"!(but, the paper will be different than before!)
Note: IYA did not “coin” the name “ironall”……I have heard that New Milford did.
Learning this lesson the hard way, I now only deal with companies that will tell me EXACTLY what they are selling.

Good points Mrs. B. Yes transfer papers do differ from batch to batch. I forgot about the yellowing problem that I have with JPSS. The same brand but different from previous batch that I had with no yellowing issue. There were also issues from different batches with Alpha Gold.

Thanks for chiming in Ashamutt. I've been watching this thread and two things are going thru my mind... the time that the paper was changed out and no notice was given to the customers who were purchasing that paper (so they could test the *new* paper that was carrying the same name as the paper they *had* been buying)... and secondly, I have been looking for the post that tells us the Alpha Gold is the same paper as JetWear Dark which are both *re-named* papers that are really Neenah Jet-OPAQUE...
I thought I was recently in a thread with some folks and we talked about the Alpha Gold/JetWear/Jet OPAQIE in that thread... so I didn't want to engage in the same convo, but really, instead - I wanted to try to add the original post where it was told to us by a reliable source.
Do you know where that post is? I looked for about a half hour last night and can't dig it up. I am pretty sure I know who said it (M) but don't want to say until I confirm that again, because I am not 100% positive he told us in a post. I'll keep looking for it, because I am pretty sure that post is here, do you remember seeing it? I hope I didn't get the info via phone convo, as it could happen that way, too, and I might be looking for a post that isn't here... help! lol... thanks, Mrs. B. I know you are The Paper Lady... you are for me! Was that info given here, do you remember, and if yes, do you know where we can find that post?
I'm going to keep looking, but need some help, it's taking longer than I thought to dig it up. Hope things are going great! I miss you! Good to talk to you again!!!!
