Re: Going to buy 4 in 1 heat press, beed some help
First...I am not a fan of the 4 in 1...when you have a problem...you lose 3 other units...consider this closes.
Neither of the printers you mention will do sublimation..and I am not sure about regular transfers...I do not know anything about either printer..
Yes there is a HUGE difference between sublimation paper and regular paper...there are a lot of threads here about sublimation...read those and then come back if you have other questions that are not answered
and YES you have to have sublimation ink, sublimation paper and the transfer will only work on 100% polyester and some pastels from vaporware...not on dark colors at all...if you use it on 50/50, you will a washed out looik..
Most of us in sublimation use the C86+ if you can find it., the C120, 1400, 4800..all epson printers.. start up cose just for the paper, ink, printer will vary from $400+ for a C86+ to $1400 - $1500 for Epson 1400 with bulk system...to $3400 or so for the Epson 4800...Raw costs for just one shirt...one print..is about $8 plus your labor/time...not an inexpensive way to start
So what do I think...I think you have some reading and research to do
Re: Going to buy 4 in 1 heat press, beed some help
Hi
Thank you for you advice I am new to this whole thing, man there is so much to read! I get confused when people talk about all these different types of prints.
About the 4in1 or 6in1, the reason why i wanted it is because I need a Mug printer, a T-shirt printer and a Plate printer so its cheaper (I think) to get one of those, but now after reading some post on here I read that its not good to get a press under 15"x15".....So I guess ill have to buy them separately. Do you know where I can buy a cheap press? my budget is really low, I was planning to spend a maximum of $600 to buy a Epson printer, a t-shirt, mug and plate printer so if you know anything that can cover all of these items that would be so amazing. I was reading up on some sublimation ink for Epson, man its expensive! How many prints would I be able to do?
I am still new to this so I will take all the advice I can get. Also can some one link to threads where there is a definition of 'usual' terms like 'hot split' lol things like that. I know what hot split is now but other terms i find difficult to understand.

I totally agree about not buying a multi-function press. Not only are you out of business if the press goes down, but you can't have more than one job working at the same time.
