If I was makeing over 30 of the same design, I would order plastisol transfers,This will be easier and the cost will most likely even out and on a larger order be cheaper. They also will last longer and look better. ..... JB
Thanks JB. I have a large order for 200 white t-shirts with a 6 color design. The design size is 10"x8". I did look into having transfers made, but the price was too high due to the 6 colors.
Thanks Diane. I knew it could be done. Thanks for the link. I see it took a long time to print the transfers. Did you print all 300 transfers first, then press? I planning on printing 50 at a time then pressing.
no, I didn't print continuously for that order, -- I had holiday orders I had to fill also . .
boy was that Epson 86 smoking . . L*~
at the time, I was printing in the house and pressing out in (what we call) the wash shed
I did about 25 transfer at a time -- trimmed them out and while printing the next set, I was pressing, folding, and bagging and numbering each size . (100 Med, 100 Large, 100 xLarge)
thank goodness it was only one sided . . L*~
now that my shop is finished -- I really enjoy my time pressing . . turn on the radio and the a/c and press away

Hi Princiefuqua,
If you already checked these guys out, pls excuse my post. If you didn't, F&M offers this option: full color for one price. For 288, it is $1.44 each.
I know you need 200, but you could just re-adjust the price into the 200 shirts instead of by 288.
288 x $1.44 = $414.72 / 200 = $2.07, and just use the $2.07 as your plastisol cost when marking up the shirts so your costs are evenly covered. They say no screen or set up fees. That looks like a low $ to me.
It may be less money to use this company than to print them yourself.
JPSS per piece price + ink cost + time to print, and that's if all goes perfect, and do you have to trim the image?
At the price of this plastisol, I think it's worth checking into. The time that you save by not printing the JPSS images - you can use to find more jobs for after this one, or relax and enjoy the weekend with your family. Well, good luck to you whatever you decide.
Yes you are 100% right Kelly. I would check out www.acetransco too. The fact that your not trimming, printing, and getting frustrated is worth a little money to me.The wear and tear on a printer alone needs to be factored in too. .... JB
FM Expressions is a great company to work with. A little stiff on their artwork requirements, but if you can figure out photoshop, you're golden. The nice thing is they are in the same state as us, and shipping is nice an quick.

Also, the press time for Freedom transfers is about 20 seconds less than JPSS. With 200 transfers, that's a difference of more than an hour spent standing in front of a hot press. For me, that's pretty significant since it's really the only part of the job I don't like.

The transfers through acetransco would cost $3.05/each & lets say you get t-shirt for $1.50/each, that's $4.55 cost per shirt.
What are you going to charge for this order? Screen printing an order like this would cost around $5/each.
How long will it take you to press 200 transfers?
Maybe you can sub the order out to a screen printer & mark the shirts up $.25/each & make $50 on the order. That way you make $50 for doing very little work. You could do it yourself and make a little more money, but it would be a lot more work.
at an order of 200 - 300 shirts I would really get them screen printed.. even at 6 colors when you figure your time in .. You will save money in the long run..
A good contract screen printer will give you a good product at a good price..
So all you have to do is send the artwork.. pick up the shirts.. and collect the money..
We have an order at the screen printer now.. for a 10 color shirt.. even with the cost of screens and seps its only costing us 4.00 to have them screened.. Plus the shirt cost of course.. but depending on what shirts you get.. its surely not worth the wear and tear on my arm to press 200 shirt order on my heat press.

200- ten color shirts for $4 each? That is a great price. Will you PM me the name of the company?
