Default Get Me Going!

I am a graphic designer. I have the software and the Epson Photo 1400. From spending a few hours on the site, I think I need the following for the production aspect:
Paper (Jet Pro Stretch)
Teflon Sheets
Heat Press (11x15 clamshell but what brand?)
Shirts (preshrunk 100 or 50/50 cotton)

Anything else? Will the transfers leave a film or do I cut the designs out myself?

Welcome to the t-shirting world! You can cut the designs out, but it's easier to get a vinyl cutter in order to contour cut your designs, especially if you plan on using digital transfers for dark garments.

Hi my name is Sivadda,

The name brand of a press is not really important. They all do the same thing depending on how much you spend. I paid $1200 for mines and it came with a start up kit. I have a 16 x 16 clamshell with manual temp dial and timer.

It looks like you have the most essential items to get started. Just a heads up, if you're starting a business the more popular you become the more expensive the paper seem to be. Purchasing a bulk quantity if possible is highly reccommended but if you can't then just try to keep a back up stash between orders. Also, you might want to throw in some outside manufacturers designs to relieve the pressure of keeping enough materials (ink and Transfer paper). Wish you all the best. I am enjoying my ride and I am sure you will too!

Heat press are not color sensitive. They will work on any color items. The important thing is to be sure to get one that you can grow with (if you choose), and will meet all your needs. The objective is to only buy one, and for that one to be everything it can be in producing various items of various sizes. Hopes this helps!
