Default Heat curing water based paint with an elna press

Hi, I have been screen printing t'shirts with water based paint for a couple of years and have been heat setting them with a domestic iron. I am thinking of buying a large elna iron press which would be able to heat set several shirts in one hit. Could someone please tell me how long they press for with one of these irons, as I would assume if you had the press down for too long it would scorch the material, the model I am looking at pops up after 30 seconds also. Would a teflon sheet over the top of the print be recommended to help avoid scorches?

I have considered the heat press option and have decided I would get more production out of an iron press.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure what the difference would be between a heat press and your iron press? Are you able to set temperature? If not, do you know what the temperature is?

What brand ink are you using?

Hi Joe, the elna press is double the size and well under half the price of a good heat press. Because of the size I can heat set multiple t'shirts in one hit. The temperature control is the same as a domestic irons settings. I am just trying to cut down on labour, at the moment I iron each individual t'shirt for 2 minutes, its sending me crazy. The paint I use is Permaset Supercover.
