ok so I got a heat press the other day (just a press nothing else) but , my question is what else do I need for the press ? Teflon sheets and what else?

The lower platen of a heat press should have a rubber, or silicon pad, attatched to it.
Sometimes if a press is used for sublimation, solely, the user may remove the pad to give the press more space to accept a thick plaque, or plate....
If you are printing garments, a lower platen pad is a must.
I also recommend a cover sheet when pressing. It keeps the "dirty" heater element from making contact with the clean, new garment. It helps to keep the heater clean..... if you make a mistake and place the graphic, up-side down facing the heater, it won't ruin your day..

If you're doing inkjet transfers, plastisol transfers, or vinyl, a teflon sheet is good to have. I have 2 of them...one large and one small.

I use the teflon sheet mostly for vinyl. If I'm doing plastisol or inkjet, I can get away with parchment paper, which you can find on the baking aisle of your local grocery store.

A bottom pad may be necessary for sublimation printing....I don't know because I've never done sub.
