Default Help Cleaning Rhinestone Transfer off Top Platen

Hi,

One of our employees accidently put a rhinestone transfer on the shirt upside down and without realizing it until too late, the rhinestones stuck to the top platen instead of the shirt. Was able to get some of them off but have a lot more to go. Is there an easy way to do this? Please help. Have a big order due.

Thank you in advance for all your assistance. Someone said use EZ Off....True or False?

I dont think that Ez off will work with glue that they have on the rhinstones.

But you can try you can get at any Joann-fabrics store.

Please not that it is not the oven cleaner but Iron cleaner..

Here's technique that iIve used several times. If your heater has is teflon coated.... this will work.
step one, get a cheap plastic (not metal!) spatula from Dollar General or something.
step two, heat the press back up to operating temp,375f or so...
step three, gently...gently scrape off the "leftovers" off with the cool new spatula.

There will still be a little adhesive on the heater. Use a DRY rag or two and wipe the element until it somes clean.

In the future, it may be a good idea to use a cover sheet when heat pressing.

Best of Luck!

Since it is a glue you might want to try Goop or something similar.

Thank you all for your help. I will try the above solutions and let you know what best worked.

And yes, it will be mandatory that all employees use the teflon sheets when pressing.

Once again, thanks
