Discuss the different brands and sizes of heat presses available on the market, including Hix, GeoKnight, Hotronix, and other smaller manufacturers. Topics include maintenance, selection, styles and more.
So we're trying to get in the game & a buddy of mine let me use his heat press to practice & get started. Meanwhile I've been trying to get up the change to buy 1. I didnt get a cheaper 1 cuz everyone here said dont do it. So now I wanna go name brand so I can get the right support as well as the right machine. So I started doing shirts & was on a roll. I bought the softstretch from Proworld & bought the kit from Transferexpress & Glow paper from Coastal. My oldhead was gonna let me use his contour cutter for the transfers too. Then all of a sudden the press stopped getting hot. Drats!! That was the end of it all right there. Now Im trying to get up the $2800 to buy the starter package from Imprintables. Man Im going thru a lot but I want this so bad Im determined to get that equipment. Im taking video footage to document my struggles because 1 of these days we're going to blow & this footage will be worth something to someone trying to get started 1 day in the future lol.

I'm sorry you've hit a road block. We've all been there, and I know how frustrating it can be.
Since you don't have the $ right now for the starter package you want, you could invest what you do have in a press. (I'm sure you've thought of that). At least that way, you can continue testing and refining process.
I have a small, relatively inexpensive press -- the GeoKnight JP14, and it's served me well for about 3 years now.
I'm not suggesting that you go that small (but don't go any smaller), I'm just saying that you don't need to have the Cadillac of presses to get off the ground, and start producing tees.
Good luck to you in your venture. You're already finding out that it can be as personally rewarding, and fun, as it can be frustrating!
well it took a few days bit Im buying my press today!!!!!
Im getting the Mighty Press 16x20
I feel like a big kid right now but thats cool. Im just happy to have something to be happy about lol..... I love this business man!
I think you're going to be happy with that press....both the brand and the size. Have fun with it, and don't get frustrated. Sometimes our best ideas begin with mistakes!

You wont regret going with a great name brand press. I know that some have started with the cheaper presses, I did as well for my larger press. All I can say is I have no idea how I ever lived with that cheaper 16 x 20 once I got a hotronix Hix are really great as well. Congrats on your new press, and keep us updated on your progress.
