Re: Is teflon coated heat press safe for your health? I guess that depends on what you mean by hazardous, as is can you get sick, or is there any fume whatsoever. It's a little subjective that way, I think, to some degree.
If you use a press in a ventilated room, or a decent size room with the door open (not an outside door, just to a hallway, etc.).. the fumes are not bad in anyway. I think there is more fume that comes off the product being heat pressed than the heat press itself.
Point in case, my husband *just* used a sharpie marker that filled the room with a smell, whereas my press doesn't smell like that, if at all. Like I said, the heat transfer papers do have a smell when they are pressed, but not really the press that I can tell, except for maybe the rubber mat on the lower platen that has a strange odor when it is new, but not anymore (1+ yr). Does that help?
