Hello, I am just starting up and was curious if anyone has any personal experience with the $169 press from Pro World? I plan on making shirts from stock transfers and selling them at either a kiosk or through local stores, mostly black shirts but other colors too.
I am considering getting the $169 press, which you need to buy $299 worth of stock transfers to get it at that price. I am worried about wasting my money on something that will break down on me in a couple months. I figure I would probably spend alot of money on the transfers anyway.
Re: is the $169 press from pro world a good choice?
Thank you everyone for your comments on this press. I logged on this morning to post that very question as I am a bit limited on $$ right now. I am thinking that if I like doing this and it works out I can invest in a 6 in 1 maybe later as I would love to be able to do more.
Will that press work with small shirts such as toddler and kids shirts. I am thinking that all I would have to worry about in regards to size is if I wanted to do a larger design.
I love the bling designs, crystal like, that they have on their site. That is probably what I will get.
Re: is the $169 press from pro world a good choice?
Hi All, I did order and received the $169. press from Pro World. Had to get the aditional transfers for the deal, ended up near $700 for whole press and transfers. I even joined their Pro World Membership club. The press is very nice, the manual is not the greatest, but, all about the press is good. The transfers I recieved are nice also, only a few were creased when recieved.
The problem I had was, there are no instructions with the transfers. I emailed them and was told I had to look each item up on there web site and read each ones directions. They surely could have done something better than that, the transfers don't even say what item they are, you have to search for each one, took a couple hours to figure out what direction goes with each transfer.
One other problem I see was the club membership, cost was $39. It get you free shipping and 10% discount on orders over $100 of transfers if you get at least 6 of each transfer. A 2% anual rebate if your total transfers are more than $1000 dollars. I, being brand new to transfers, do not feel I would meet thier discount requirements. I also was not at all happy with their customer service or after sales help. It was 2 weeks since my order and they still had my points at zero, they told me to keep watch and account would ne updated.
I called to cancel the membership, the woman on phone, did not give name, just said she would credit my account, no offer to refund the money. She did not even ask why, so I asked her why she didn't ask. She said she figured I didn't order enough to get a discount. I told her the reason was because I felt nobody at the company cared to help a new person. She said SORRY. After this call, I realy have a sore taste. I hope others do not have same experience I had.
The press is not bad for the price. I wouldn't get the membership, unless you are sure you going to get well obver $2000 worth of transfers during the year.
Re: is the $169 press from pro world a good choice?
The press is a Sunie press. I have the Sunie press, but I got it direct from Sunie instead of doing the transfer deal through Pro World. I use it for heat press vinyl and it works great. I have used it for heat transfers on T-shirts as well as several dozen hockey jerseys for teams. For transfers, I go to Art Brands. They have some nice pricing in their overstock section and their prices on regular transfers are not too bad either. Overall, happy with the press purchase and the transfers from Art Brand - (and yes, each transfer comes with instructions in the bag of 12 for temperature, usable garment colors and hot/cold peel)

Thanks for the name where you get your transfers, do you have a link to their web site. Yes, I agree, the press is good, but do go right to them to buy, don't get caught up in the "Too good to be true" deal at pro world.
Re: is the $169 press from pro world a good choice?
Proworld's deal can be good if you can use the stock transfers they sell and/or the choice of the two heat transfer papers they will let you purchase 100 sheets of to reach the $299.
If you can't use the stock transfers or heat transfer paper (because maybe you use vinyl, plastisols, or a different heat transfer paper than what is offered) it might be just best to purchase the heat press from Proworld (the 15x15) size for the staight up price of $299.
For a comparison, Sunie.com does carry the same size press for the same price of $299. For whatever reason, Sunie offers a 3 yr warranty, and Proworld a 2 yr warranty.
The Proworld press and the Sunie.com press are both Seiki presses. Some many times, we just commonly refer to them as Sunie, so whenever you see Sunie, we're all really talking about the Seiki. If you see the name Seiki, that's the Sunie we are talking about. Some folks use one name, some use the other.
Sunie.com is having a really awesome sale on the larger size presses, so if a 15x15 is too small, it's worth a look at this model's bigger brothers. The 16x24 is on sale for $369!! I can't believe that. That's less than the 16x20.
Is the $169 press deal worth it? If you can use the stock transfers and/or heat press paper (read carefully, there are only two papers offered) - then I suppose it could be. If you can't use the paper, shop all the suppliers of the press, find your best deal, be it Proworld or someone else. =)
Re: is the $169 press from pro world a good choice?
Not sure what drawbacks to the cheaper press's but I got a great deal on a HIX 15x15 at Alpha Supply. Those people are GREAT to deal with.
As far as the Pro World membership....yeah I bought into it to. There service there is REAL BAD. Save your money and go to TodaysTrading.com They have the same transfers and more for 25% less and more. You need to buy their catalogs because they don't list them on the web. Instructions came with everything and they are wonderful to deal with too.
Re: is the $169 press from pro world a good choice?
