Discuss the different brands and sizes of heat presses available on the market, including Hix, GeoKnight, Hotronix, and other smaller manufacturers. Topics include maintenance, selection, styles and more.
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a Sunie, but am undecided about what size I should get. I plan on doing mostly tees, but may be doing a few hockey jerseys as well. Will a 15x15 take care of the jerseys without a problem or should I bite the bullet and just get the 16x24. I'm really not thrilled about having to move the larger press after I'm done working with it as I don't have a place that I can keep it at all times and will have to store it between uses.
Thanks. Any help will be appreciated.

Alot of people use the 15x15, and say they are happy with that. Some later upgrade and say they are happy they upgraded. If you really want to 16x20, but the weight is an issue, are you able to mount the press on a stand with wheels so you could move it easily? Others have done that, and they just roll it where they need the press to be. If you can't, it sounds like you like the 15x15 for the ligher weight. Good luck no matter which you choose. =)
Yeah, the weight may be a concern, but I am also concerned about being able to get a jersey done with name and numbers on the back. Is there room enough behind the plate on the 15x15 to do the name and then slide the jersey up after the name is done and take care of the numbers or is this going to cause a problem for me? I only need to do about 20 Jerseys for my own hockey team and the rest will be T's and stuff like that.
Yes, I have some room, but not too much (11x15 stahls)... I would think, tho, that if the other way gives you more room, you could turn the shirt upside down and let the name hang off the frontside of the press. ?

My solution to sweatshirts and other big things is to usually lay the garment sideways on the heat press, so the collar hangs off the right or left side and not in front of me, or crammed behind the platen. Sometimes it only takes a different perspective!

Reason: Quoted wrong post!
I went ahead and got the 15x15. I think it will work for what I plan on using it for. I can always go bigger later if necessary and keep this for smaller jobs and if I go to a fair to airbrush some t's.
