Discuss the different brands and sizes of heat presses available on the market, including Hix, GeoKnight, Hotronix, and other smaller manufacturers. Topics include maintenance, selection, styles and more.
Okay, I've decided to upgrade my t-shirt business and purchase a heat press. I have an Epson CX6000 and will use it to print out my designs on commercial grade heat transfer paper for inkjets. So I've been searching through this forum to find out the best name brand models and what not. I stumbled upon a SunIE 15x15 for $199 being sold by a company called fuzing.com. Now, the press is listed as brand new. My question is has anyone dealt with this company and if so, what was your experience? Positive or Negative? I know I can buy directly from the source, but if I can get a cheaper price from another legit business, why should I not take advantage of that you know?
Also, can anyone tell me the names of any companies selling heat presses like SunIe, Hix, Mighty Press, etc., which they have had a bad experience? This way I know who to avoid even though their prices might be too good to be true. I'm not going to buy from Ebay or Craig's list for something like this. Just don't want to deal with any fools trying to do a bait and switch on me.
Last question, other than watching a few internet videos on Youtube about heat pressing designs on shirts, is there any place that offers some sort of training class on this topic? The New York City, North Eastern or Central New Jersey areas are preferred. I want to learn more but also my business partners need to learn much more as I have more experience in the t-shirt production business than most of them do
Say ? you want cheap. Some guys selling wood heat press for only 99 bux. You could be the first one here on the forms to have a Woodie.....lol Take a look at it.http://cgi.ebay.com/15-X-10-Heat-Pre...3A1%7C294%3A50

LOL!! It says it will reach temps of up to 400 degrees. Wouldn't the wood ignite at that temp!?! I like to get the best price on a quality product. If I wanted a piece of crap like this, I could build it myself. PASS!
There are one or two large threads about the Sunie presses and they seem to be well liked. I've never used one but my impression from reading about them is that they are good presses for the price.
Yeah I read them. As well as a few bad posts about it. Although they are a foreign company making presses, they do have an office out in Nevada. But since I don't live there, I can't check it out. Damn thing could be a Mailboxes, Etc location for all I know.
I've decided to go with either a Mighty Press or Hotronics/Phoenix Phire. Much more positive info on their products as well as obtain service via their warranties. Expenditures of that size and for how long I want it to last for, I want some sort of lifetime warranty on the equipment.
LOL!! Well, somebody had to try the wood one. Since wood ignites at about 190 degrees, I figure once you got it near there, the press and your shirt will become good and toasty! Great for outdoor camp fires and such.

I bought a Phoenix Phire and have nothing but good things to say. I believe they now come with double timers which I wish mine had. Imprintables sometimes have good deals on demo models.
I have had a sunie press for about 5 months and no problems. I don't think the Sunie press is made by Sunie...from my understanding Sunie is the name of the company that is bringing the press into the US..I picked my press up at the Sunie Office in Carson City Nevada and it is certainly not a manufacturing plant!. It is a medium sized warehouse operation with a small office in front. The warehouse has stacks of heat presses, vinyl cutters and mug presses that they ship out as ordered. The operation appears to be run by a man and wife..or at least a man and woman with the woman apparently the business end. JMO

fuzing is linking directly to sunie. they dont sell it for that price. you can go to proworld.com as they have a deal for a sunie if you buy other products.
THe sunie in question is the SEiki HP4801. It's decent. No pressure indicator so you have to wing it.
