Default power ratings.... 110/15amp /etc

was curious want the typical power rating is for a heat press. reason being is that if i decide to order transfers and go the heat press route, not sure if the standard 110/15 amp typical outlet would work.

considering that i will be pressing in an apartment/house i would be limited.

not sure if i would be able to get a 16x20 press if i have limited power....hmmm

Each press may be different. The 16 x 20, 16 x 16 and 15 x 15 presses manufactured by Hotronix pull 14.5 amps. They will recommend a dedicated 20 amp outlet, but a 15 amp will work. You definitely will not be able to use anything else on this circuit.

Also most presses are 110v and have the option to be made 220v on request.

i'll have to look deeper....

You should be able to use a 110v machine. But as Josh says, nothing else on that circuit.

As Josh said either of those units are 14.5 amps and 1750 watts. You can buy the larger one with the same results.

You can test the circuit before buying the press. Find the largest hair dryer anyone you know owns.. Plug it into the outlet you plan on using. Make sure the dryer is 1750 watts or larger, if it holds up to that the press should be fine. No guarantees

To calculate amps take watts divide by volts = amps (1750 / 120 = 14.555)

This is how a 15 Amp and a 20Amp should look like.
Most of the time you can find 20 Amp receptacles in dining rooms and kitchens.
