In the market for a new 16x20 heat press. Any sales I haven't seen yet?

Default In the market for a new 16x20 heat press. Any sales I haven't seen yet?

I have read reviews on the Major brands and spent some time on the sellers sites. We should be making a purchase in the next two weeks and if anyone has advice on sales I would appreciate the input.

Thanks in advance

If you buy from a preferred vendor, listed in the left hand column of this page, and tell them you are a forum member, some will give you a 5% discount. I think Imprintables Warehouse does for sure.

I am looking at heat presses right now, too, so I will be watching this thread.

I have never worked with a heat press before and know nothing about them except for the reading I've been doing. I haven't ever even seen one besides online.

I was thinking there may be benefit in buying one from someone locally in case of problems, questions, warranty, etc. Do you all think this is right or not? I am in the Dallas area if anyone wants to recommend a good place for heat presses here.

Also, the names on the preferred vendor list on this site......are those forum members? Or have they been used by members here that recommended them? I guess what I'm asking is how do companies get on that preferred vendor list?

Thanks.

You made some great points and our press will be the first one also. I don't mind spending more money to get a quality machine.

They weigh in over 100 pounds so the shipping will be another factor.

All of our homework tells us that the 16x20 is
the best size for us.

Coastal Business offers free shipping and has a discount for forum members listed on this page: T-Shirt Forums Special Offers from T-Shirt Forums Preferred Vendors

As far as problems with the heat press, I think generally they have to go back to the manufacturer for repairs, not the distributor where you buy it from, so I'm not sure that location would necessarily need to be a big factor.

I recommend the Stahls Hotronix 16" x 20" with auto release. The machine has a dual time setting feature that makes it easy to use in DTG printing as you can pre-set times for lights and darks. It also has a pressure reading that is useful if you are doing transfers or other applications.

We bought a $300 16x20 Sunie a few years ago, and have pressed about 1000 shirts with no problems from the press. I think they have gone up on the price since then, but still almost 3 times less than most heat presses that are that size.
