Default Black specks ruining shirts...

Occasionally I will get some stray, black specks that look like 1 cm fibers or ??? that transfer to my shirt and basically cause it to become a giveaway.

I can almost stop this from happening by using a teflon sheet with every pressing... but it still occurs from time to time.

I have no idea if some kind of fiber gets on the platen... then burns... then is transferred to the shirt either directly or by sticking to the teflon sheet.

Have you ever experienced this?

Brett

It is probably the polymer or the coating build up from the red sheeting of Imageclip transfers that eventually become charred and transfer to the shirt. Part of the red sheet is exposed to the platten. Cover the transfers with parchment paper or teflon sheet during the first pressing.

Also clean the upper platten with Ezee cleaner from once in a while.

Or... I can just start pressing with the red sheet on top... since the red sheet is larger and completely covers the green sheet.
