Anyone recommend a self weeding transfer paper for haltone images?
Anyone recommend a self weeding transfer paper for haltone images?
ive done some research into Image Clip inket self weeding transfers and the promo video they had on youtube states that the self weeding would not work on designs that are half tones or have shades of grey/white on them - i.e. the design has to consist of solid colours with a clear outline/perimeter
does anyone know of or worked with halftone images with transfer paper which has left the garment without the box frame normally associated with transfer papers??

Imageclip for inkjet should work for halftone since the image is made of solid color. The shades of different color tones are made simulated by using different sizes of dots. It is not laking using the actual shades of colors like gray that is ranging from very light to very dark shades. Even Imageclip for laser will work with halftone. Imageclip for laser does have limitations as far as very light shades of color such as gradient and photos. Inkjet version does not have those limitations. So you should be fine with both versions if the image is halftone. Just to be sure order sample and try it your self. Do have the design? Send it to me and I will try it on Imageclip for laser and for inkjet.

I was thinking of transferring a photo of a person onto a tee in black and white to ahcieve something similar to the following
I think i mistakenly referred to it as being halftone (which it would be if i screen printed the design) but in this case the heat transfer would be by using gradients.
Do you think it would be better to convert the photo to a halftone then print the image using inkiet/laser with imageclip or attempt to print the transfer as a standard photo onto image clip??
thanks

If you convert it to halftone I would assume that is going to be pure black and white then I would say Imageclip for laser will work. If not use Imageclip for inkjet since the image will be in gray scale and a photo.
