Best inkj printer for printing BLACK & WHITE photos for heat transfer?
As per title. I have a mono laser printer which i think will be unsuitable to print on transfer paper. Does anyone know the best inkjet.
I have been recommended the Epson 1400 but I do not really need to print photos in colour just in mono. Are there any alternatives (cheaper) bearing this in mind??

I think that the 1400 would be the simplest for your needs. Most 3rd party ink suppliers have an ink profile for that printer for use with JPSS. It would probably give you the least amount of headaches associated with getting your color (gray scale) to output right. I know that with my R1900 I have to be careful as my gray will sometimes come out with a blue tint.

thanks for the reply.
What do you think about going down the laser transfer route. I have a mono Oki 2400 laser printer. I have only just got it (bought it for printing letters, business etc) and not tried using it for heat transfers. I might give this a shot first

Sure, laser transfers are on par with inkjets. Try a sample pack first to see if you like the results. As for the inkjet printers, try the new workforce 1100. It is the newest wide format printer, has 4 colors, uses pigment inks, and way cheaper than the 1400.

Is there any RIP software compatible with the 1100? Just curious since this might create a problem if you ever wanted to print gradients.
