Hi,
This may be a stupid question but does anyone use two printers, one for sublimation ink and another say using magic mix? Im asking because Im thinking of also printing mugs/plates as well as cotton tees. Im about to start up and want to make sure i spread my budget carefully/correctly. Is it necc for 2 printers for a sub ink and achival? Im really new to this and trying to get my head around the processes.
thank you in advance
Well I have a canon printer for paper prints and have just ordered a C88+ Epson Printer for transfers. Total cost me $241. For me its my better option to have two seperate printers for their jobs, Im also going to purchase CIS systems for them so I dont need to keep refilling ink.
I think it can be worth having two printers to open up your options. Printers aren't really that expensive (it's ink that's expensive in the long run... and if you're using ink it's paying for itself), and it means you can offer an improved range of products.
There is a printer that can switch between the two types of inks (I have no idea how well it does this), but I can't recall which. It's been mentioned recently on the forums, so someone might recall.
I have read that it is more economical to have a CIS system. Can I get them for both types of inks? Sorry for all the questions. Im based in the UK and trying to find the alternatives to all the great suggestions on this site.I know its poss to ship but its an extra extra cost. If there is anyone based in the UK using similar systems, let me know please.

As in if you are running two different printers, can you get a CIS system for one printer running pigment ink for digital transfers, and can you get a CIS for the second printer running dye sublimation ink for dye sublimation?
Yes, you can. There are CIS systems available for both types of ink.
(I'm not sure if the printer that can switch between the two can bet setup with a CIS or not; I know next to nothing about it, it was just mentioned on the forums)
