Default Help a beginner get set up in heat transfers.

Hey guys, pretty new here as you can see. I'm currently thinking of starting a hobby and then growing it into a business as time goes on. I'm thinking of starting with heat press which I have no experience with but have seen* done. It "seems" simple and easier compared to screen printing which I "have" done in the past. I was wondering if you all would be so kind as to list any and all equipment I'll need for such a thing. I'm just planning to start out in my basement printing my own t-shirts to wear personally, then moving to something bigger as time goes on. Its really fun reading all the forums in this website .

Note: If a thread like this has already been posted and all information has been given; I am sorry and could you please link the thread.

Hey Creamy I really was not trying to be funny or smart but if you do not give us enough info then it is hard for us to give an adequate answer.

You wanted a list of equipment you would need, I gave you that.

We are all here to help each other and learn from each other, really I was not trying to be smart.

There really isn't much you will need to get going in the way of equipment. A transfer machine, stock transfers and/or transfer paper, and the garments. If you are going to make your opwn transfers then you will need a decent printer, either inkjet or laser. Good luck!

Hi CB,

Have you decided which type of transfers you want to use? There are inkjet heat transfers, laser heat transfers, plastisol transfers, stock transfers... for that matter, you could add vinyl transfers.

Do you know what direction you'd like to go in?

Here is a thread that might help you decide. In it, is a link to another thread with Pros and Cons of each method.

What is the Quality of Different T-Shirt Printing Methods? A list in general order.

Once you let us know "which" method is your selected method, we can help with more details.
