Default Pressing/Printing on Both Sides

Hey guys,

This forum has been such a huge help! Thank you for all your posts.

I did a search but couldn't find anything on techniques for pressing on both sides of a shirt.

I've printed a logo on the back of a bunch of shirts. Now, I'd like to print on the fronts. But, I don't want the ink on the back to melt off. I've tried using a cotton cloth between the platen and the back, but the cotton cloth sticks to the shirt!

Any thoughts?

Thank you,
Peter

If the shirt is thick enough you might be able to print on the other side without anything in between the layers. if not, you can use a teflon sheet or parchment paper. The paper is available at a supermarket.

My problem is that the lower platen is hot from previous presses and the ink on the back of the shirt melts off when I press the new design on the front side.

You should try a teflon pillow in between the shirt. I usually do vinyl printing on both sides and don't have a problem. Do you have a teflon cover for the bottom of the press? If the bottom is too hot, let it cool down before you press the other side.
