Default Help with infant bodysuit plastisol transfers

First, I love this forum and have learned so much! Now I need some advice please!

I bought the Trans Pro 15 x 15 heat press from Pro World and fired it up recently. I had some old Hanes t-shirts that I used to practice on. I set the machine to 360 and pressed my plastisol transfer for 10 seconds and it came out perfect! Tried a few more with the same good result. I then tried a Carter's infant bodysuit and the transfer didn't stick. The finer, thinner lines of the transfer didn't stick to the bodysuit but instead were lifting off.

I increased the press time, increased the temp, tried multiple things but it only got worse. When I increased the press time or temp it made the transfer appear crackled.

I decreased the heat and the crackling effect went away but again there was a lot of lifting. I'm not sure what to try next. At each step I would practice on the hanes t-shirt and it would turn out perfectly, but not the infant bodysuit.

Any suggestions on temperature, press time, etc? The bodysuit seems to be a bit thicker, tighter mesh than the hanes t-shirt, do I need to adjust for that?

Thanks!

Does the fabric have coarse knit or ribbing? You need the fabric stretched when the transfer is pressed on it. You can use a teflon pillow that is larger than the shirt placed inside the garment to keep it stretched so that the material between the ribbings are exposed for the transfer to adhere on.

The gerber onesies do have a rib to them which might make the pressing a bit harder because of the fabric, as it is hard to get the ink in between the ribs of the garment.

You might want to try a different type of onesie, that has an interlock or ringspun cotton. I get mine from Monag.com, and they are really nice. This of course would depend on your budget to though as they are more expensive.
