Hey all... I'm a total newbie... just got my press (jp 12) yesterday... and got my Epson C88+ today... Before I waste anymore inkjet transfer paper (cheap Staples kind) and possilbly damage my printer... does anyone have any suggestions... I've been trying to run half sheets of tansfer paper through the c88 and the paper seems to just stay there and not continue through... printing on the same spot... should I run full sheets? Regular paper seems to work fine.... any help????
ummmm well... I'm just screwin' around with the new equipment and I was just going to try something small first, so, I didn't want to waste a whole sheet.... the first time it ran a half sheet fine then it eat like 2 or 3 ... So I just found some other images to try and ran a full sheet and it worked great!! I'm just about to warm up the press for the first time and give it a try hehe!
Are you following me around TBot? My guardian angel
ok... so the first one I did...I completely forgot to put on the teflon sheet.. I had it right there and just forgot... but, I remember just as it touched to.. it totally ruined the transfer but nothing else.. I was able to scrap it off the press.. whewwww....but, the larger image looks great.. we'll have to see how it holds up to being washed....
been There done that. if you place your half sheets into your printer without any other papers in the carrage after it it sounds like the feeders did not pick up the paper. Be sure to place paper behind the half sheet. don't use single sheets.
For the dark transfers you can use a teflon sheet or a peace of parchment type paper... and yes if you do dark transfers without the teflon sheet it will stick to the press... found that out with my first shrit (D'OH!).
I was using half sheets cuz I don't have a clue as to what i'm doing... and i have no money... so there ya go
It's going to be easier to print on a full sheet of paper and then cut off the excess to potentially re-use later. You still get only the half sheet used as desired, but it's easier to print the first time. After that, try Lou's suggestion of having extra paper behind it to hold it in place better, when you're printing the leftovers.
If you're really desperate, you could also try taping a half sheet of transfer paper on to a full sheet of normal paper, and load it the right way so that it prints on the transfer paper.
