heat press takes a long time to get the right temperature.
heat press takes a long time to get the right temperature.
I have a heat press that takes a long time to heat up to 380 F, When it gets there it fines, transfer turns out great. It turns off by itself a few times then I have to reset it just to get the temperature going. Again once it gets to right temp its fine, does anybody have this issue.

Turning itself off is another issue. Does it then turn itself back on or do you have to restart it? What brand?
it only turns off by itself not on, I have to reset it to turn back on, then a minute or less it does the the same thing, process repreats about 4 or 5 times til it reaches about 380 then it is fine. It does not have a brand bought it off ebay., I know probably a crappy machine if its bought from ebay, I have checked out the sellers review before I bought it. I am not sure if it has to do with my outlet or the equipment.
Re: heat press takes a long time to get the right temperature.
It could be that you have a weak or defective breaker.
When the press is heating up, it pulls the most amperage.
When it's at temp, there is less stress on the breaker so it doesn't "pop"\or at least not nearly as fast.
I'd check into that......

Check to make sure you are on a 20amp line if your on a 15 amp line and you press normally runs on 17.5 amps it will work but not properlly when heating up.
Take a picture of your press and send it to me and I will tell you what brand it is and how to contact MFG to help you if there is an issue...
Also, are you using an extention cord? If so, be sure it can handle the ampage, feel the cord if get warm or hot don't use it! You could have a fire. Spend the extra money to have the right one, it is a lot less expensive than fixing fire damage or buring out the press.
Re: heat press takes a long time to get the right temperature.
Has you press been in the same location or is this a new spot for it? If it has worked fine in the past at this spot, I'd look toward the press, but if you just changed rooms, or added more equipment to the workroom, look there.....
