Default Do I wash before pressing?

I have my first job of pressing names and numbers on the back of orange baseball jerseys. They are 100% polyester. (Dri-gear/moisture wicking) I ordered white letters/numbers from Transfer Express, and am printing the Tigers logo myself. What paper do I need to buy in order to print myself and have it look great? Also, do I wash the jerseys before I press them? I would rather not but am afraid that when the team washes them after wearing will they shrink, or numbers/letters/logo come off? HELP

I would recommend not washing. There are some that consider it a used garment after its washed. I always look for preshrunk just to keep that out of the equation, but I think the Dri-Gear stuff is probably ok. Just be sure you are pressing at the right heat and then after you remove any backing I would recommend a repress with some type of cover sheet like teflon or silicone parchment paper.

As far as the paper to use for the tiger logo, I'm pretty sure you are going to need to use an opaque paper for darks like Everlast Dark, but I would get some and do some testing as soon as you can to be sure you aren't going to have problems with its thickness or anything. I also would recommend doing one and wash testing it throughly before you make up the whole batch.
