Default Ok I'm about to buy a Multifunction Epson Printer but need your advice :)

Hello fellow members,

I have finally decided on the Epson printer that I am going to purchase. It is the Epson Stylus CX5900

Now I have read on the forums that Durabrite Ultra inks are the same as Durabrite inks and am happy to say this printer uses Durabrite Ultra.
Ok one step in the right track...

Now, since I would like to scan images as well, the handy scanner is available but wait, it is only 1200 x 2400 dpi scanning resolution.

This is the highest epson scanning resolution printer which uses durabrite ultra inks available in retail stores at the moment.

So comparing this model with the CX7800 printer, all I need to know is, is there much difference in scanning resolution and do you think that 1200 x 2400 dpi scanning res is good enough to scan for transfers???

Thanks to all who reply in advance.

1200 x 2400 dpi is basically high end. For a long time 600 x 1200 was the top of the line; scanners far exceed what most people will need them for. It should be more than adequate for use with transfers (or more or less anything else).

I agree with Lewis.

Another thing you may want to look at is the actual size of print you can create with this machine. A standard 8.5x11 page or larger.... as most transfers today move towards a larger size.

Cool thanks for your message, that clears the scanning query up.

Good point, although this is the best model available in our country in retails stores and I think it only goes to A4 which is 8.5 x 11. Not too keen on purchasing second hand.

Anyway I think it'll be right for what I want to do. Thanks all, you all rock!!!!
