I want to try to apply heat transfers to vinyl. I do outside fairs and music festivals and need a way to display all my designs on vinyl or cloth. so i can hang them in my booth. all the shirts get ruined hanging on the grid wall

For sign it would be OK because it is not going to be washed. Don't use too much heat. or the vinyl will melt. Use heat transfer that you can cold peel. That is what I used. I tried vinyl as an undebase. It looked good but after the first wash 90% of it came off. I even used the JPSS Activewear because it can be cold peeled and it is meant for nylon and 100% polyester material.

There is a material called Phototex that is sold by Phototex Group that has a repositionable adhesive. It is made of fabric. It can be printed with inkjet. It can be used indoor or outdoor. It sticks really well on none porous material. Ideal for vinyl. According to the vendor the material is used by Fortune 500 companies for outdoor advertising. I have seen photo of the vendors ad that shows the material on a semi. For long lasting outdoor use they recommend Solvent inks. The vendor is giving away good size samples. I have gotten two free 10 feet rolls from them. One with adhesive and one without. I have two bumper stickers made out of the material. It faded some because I did not use Solvent ink. A fellow member said he said he used clear overlay on his.

You can also use Imagestix sold by Tshirtsupplies. That does not require special ink for outdor according to the vendor.
