Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
It will be difficult to apply to much pressure for the transfer. If you don't use enough pressure, spots of your transfer will stick to the paper when you hot peel.
Pre press is to warm up the garment and drive out any moisture. Some times it takes several pre presses to get all the water out. I will often do a full 20 sec. cycle. Don't heat the garment for long periods of time, you might scorch it.
Thanks. So maybe 3 to 5 seconds a few times then? How do I know when it is all out? Also with transjet II paper how long should I press for? Their directions say 350 to 375 degress for 5 to 8 seconds but it sounds too short from what I have read here.
I place the garment and give it a 10 sec. pre press. Then I lay my perfect transfer tool on the shirt. It will fog up if moisture is present. If so, I will give it another 10 sec. press, test etc. until I have no fog.
Perfect Transfer tool is a big sheet of plastic, there are other posts if you want more info on it.
