2 questions (1 pressure and 2 pre press time)
I have two quick questions. I am about to press some infant bodysuits with TransJet II paper and have 2 quick questions.
1)How do I know what amount of pressure to use when pressing these or anything else? I am using the Hix Swingman15 if that matters.
2) How long do I pre press the bodysuits. Lou mentioned 3 to 5 when we were talking about mousepads but I am not sure if that is for everything.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: 2 questions (1 pressure and 2 pre press time) It will be difficult to apply to much pressure for the transfer. If you don't use enough pressure, spots of your transfer will stick to the paper when you hot peel.
Pre press is to warm up the garment and drive out any moisture. Some times it takes several pre presses to get all the water out. I will often do a full 20 sec. cycle. Don't heat the garment for long periods of time, you might scorch it.

Re: 2 questions (1 pressure and 2 pre press time) Thanks. So maybe 3 to 5 seconds a few times then? How do I know when it is all out? Also with transjet II paper how long should I press for? Their directions say 350 to 375 degress for 5 to 8 seconds but it sounds too short from what I have read here.

Re: 2 questions (1 pressure and 2 pre press time) I set my press to heavy, 350 F, 10 sec.
I place the garment and give it a 10 sec. pre press. Then I lay my perfect transfer tool on the shirt. It will fog up if moisture is present. If so, I will give it another 10 sec. press, test etc. until I have no fog.
Perfect Transfer tool is a big sheet of plastic, there are other posts if you want more info on it.

Re: 2 questions (1 pressure and 2 pre press time) That helps protect your upper platen as well as your garment. It's always a good idea to use a cover sheet.
