Default Soooo, I just realized I've been doing it all wrong..

I've had my heat press for a few weeks now and just love it. However, today I was looking at the specs for the vinyl I've been pressing and realized that I've been running the press much hotter(200 C degrees) and shorter(bout 10 seconds per press) than the makers of the vinyl recommends(160 C degrees and 15 seconds). I have pressed dozens of shirts and they all came out fine even after wash testing so is there going to be problems down the road(i.e. after the 10th wash) or are the recommendations more of a minimum temperature and dwell time suggestion? If anyone wants to know how I came up with those temps and dwell times, I watched someone pressing vinyl(I think it was vinyl but could have been transfer paper) on YouTube and thats what they had theirs set on.

If they came out good after the first wash then your good. We all learned from mistakes, i know i did a couple dumb things when i started.

Each press will heat differently and those are only factory recommendations which isn't going to work for everyone. Even if your temp says you are at 200 degrees, your heating plate may only be truely lower. If your tests are holding up well, it should be fine.
