Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I just purchased a $169 machine from Pro World as a back up machine since I had several events last weekend and am somewhat disappointed. The pad on the machine is not glued down to the bottom like on my other machines. I called Pro World and they stated that this is normal and that the one they use is not glued down as well. Can anyone tell me if they are using the machine without the pad being glued? I don't know if I should try to glue it down or not.
Malia . . my machine came with the pad partially un-glued as well . . it doesn't effect anything really . . other than.. maybe.. pulling the pad off more and more each time you take a shirt of the pad . . also on "MY" machine the last 1/4 inch of the press won't press the transfer . . so I have to pull my shirt and design up closer to the top of the pad so that all of the design is pressed/transferred . . .(if that makes sense). . .
the only other issue I have with this machine is that it doesn't open as wide as my HIX . . so I have to have an extra light shining on the pad area to be sure that I aline everything correctly . .
when I am not using my HIX.. I have to adjust my thinking/processing with this machine
but other than that . . it's a good start up machine . .

MaLia. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, In fact, the pad is supposed to be cemented to the base. The best product to use is contact cement. If you do purchase a bottle, please let us know the cost so we may reimburse you.

Thanks! Diane Pro World just replied to my post and suggested using contact cement so I'm going to try glueing it myself. It's just different than my Hix machines so I was concerned. Of course the price is a lot better so I think it will make a good back up machine which is what I purchased the machine for.
I would use silicone glue like the kind used for car gaskets this is what I use when replacing pads it works better..
Just take off the pad then put silicone around the whole thing then put pad down and make sure your press is off and press for 24 hours then use this is how they are put on hope this helps..
